What is WBP glue?

WBP is the abbreviation of "Water Boiled Proof" which means weatherproof, boil proof, or steam proof. If WBP glue is used for plywood and laminated board, this board can be used outdoors for a long time (even permanently) (weather resistance), waterproof (no problem in boiling water), moisture-proof (boiled in water) Don't be afraid, let alone moisture-proof). Similar to the meaning of "MR glue", WBP glue is not the name of a certain kind of glue, WBP is a characteristic, feature or characteristic of a certain kind of glue. If glue has WBP, that is, weather-resistant and boil-resistant.
Common WBP glues include melamine glue and phenolic glue. Generally speaking, ordinary melamine glue can be kept in boiling water for about 4-8 hours without delamination, and good melamine glue can be kept in boiling water for 10 hours or even longer. Ordinary phenolic can remain glued in boiling water for about 48-72 hours. The best phenolic glue is permanent glue, and the corresponding plywood is difficult to delaminate in boiling water.
The weather resistance and boiling resistance performance of plywood depends not only on the quality of the WBP glue but also on the production process, the quality of the core board, etc.
In general, the glue used for outdoor plywood (such as marine plywood, filmed plywood, plywood for construction, plywood for billboards, etc.) is WBP. In fact, WBP glue is also often used for indoor plywood, such as plywood for furniture, plywood for cabinets, plywood for floors, etc., which require weather resistance and boiling resistance.
